I want to talk to you about another really common question I get from Best Men.

It's a straightforward question, but there's actually a bit of hidden meaning behind it.

They ask me,

"James, how often should I be practicing my speech?"

(Here's the part you're not going to like)

The answer is...you should be practicing as much as possible.

But, really, what does that mean?

You know how much I dislike being vague.

So I want to break down what "as much as possible" means for you.

  • It means some guys have more free time on their hands than others....

  • some guys have a month before their have to deliver their speech....

  • and guys have less than a week...

Here's the practical (anti-vague) answer.

You need to use, whatever time you've got to practice your speech three times a day, every day, until you've delivered it.

And to do that I've created a formula for you to follow:

Every day you should do:

  • a quick 5-minute practice in the morning,

  • a 15-minute practice some time throughout the day and

  • a quick 5-minute practice again in the evening.

This structure will give you everything you need to practice your Best Man Speech, efficiently and effectively.

Let's start with the 5-minute practice, I call those quick 5-minute practices “Fast-5’s”.

When you do a Fast-5, you should be reciting your speech, out loud, twice, back to back.

Do one of those in the morning, and one in the evening.

In The Best Man Blueprint I call the 15-minute practice session a "Swift-15".

When you do a Swift 15, you are going to video record yourself and watch the playback to look for ways you can improve.

In The Best Man Blueprint, I give you a full checklist of what to look for and how to fix little mistakes you catch when you practice...

Things like:

  • When to use hand gestures throughout your speech
  • How to use hand gestures the right way to engage your audience visually
  • How to test your energy level when practicing your speech
  • And what to do to get feedback from friends and family when you're practicing

The reality of it is, the more you practice, the better. But I know the “just do it” method doesn't always work for all guys.

Especially if you’re feeling nervous about getting up to the microphone on the big day.

Which brings me to the hidden meaning behind the question "How often should I practice my speech?"

Most guys are hoping the answer they'll get is something like... "Ah, as long as you run through it a few times the day before, you'll be fine"

The reality is, just about all guys HATE PRACTICING. It can leave them feeling beat up, insecure and hopeless.

Practicing is all about making mistakes, and the more mistakes you make in the comfort of your own solitude, the FEWER mistakes you'll make when delivering your speech.

It's as simple as that.

And because most guys hate practicing, in The Best Man Blueprint I’m going to take you step-by-step exactly how to Schedule your Speech strategy to make doing your Fast-5’s and Swift-15 every day automatic and painless.

Hint: The secret has to do with brushing your teeth.
